Sports for kids

Sports play an important role in the development and bringing up kids. However, to make the process of their involvement in the health life style more harmonious, it is better to choose a sports section for them according to their own preferences and needs.

Practically all sports sections start for the kids at the age of 4-5. But not all lessons are good for the children of this age. For instance, let’s take martial arts, box and wrestling. It is appropriate for 7-year-old kids, but you should better select the kind of sports where there is less fighting in pairs, because children fight heatedly and severely and it is no good for the kid to receive strokes in the head regularly. Kids undergo concussions worse than adults; it can lead to chronic diseases of brain. The strokes on the face can cause the damages of ear cartilage, nasal cartilage, traumas of eye orbits – for the growing kid it is the source of future health problems. It is recommended to start with aikido, where the main task is to learn how to fall down correctly in order to avoid traumas. Box should be postponed till the age of 12, or better refuse from this idea completely.

Gyms seem to be an appropriate kind of sports, however, there is one disadvantage – it gives a huge strain to the spine and it may influence the process of growing in a negative way. Other contraindications are scoliosis, bronchial asthma, heart disease and myopia. The recommended age for starting gym lessons is nine.

Carting provides an opportunity to learn and to organize races as well. It gives a lid a sense of self-confidence, develops his reaction, concentration, as well as arm muscles and neck muscles. The best age to start the lessons is not earlier than eight.

Rock climbing is a good choice for kids as it provides the training of all limbs, spine and head, develops coordination skills. Besides, the lessons in younger groups are not hold on huge heights, so there is no need to be afraid of fall downs. Rock climbing is a good basis fro the future and more deliberate choice of sports section.

Swimming is useful for all kids. Even if your kid is an amateur swimmer he develops better than his coevals. His immune system works better, the spine relaxes, the muscles work in a different manner than on the land – such useful training is not available in other elements.

Equestrian sport trains different groups of muscles, it strengthen the body and improves the posture as it is very difficult to stoop while riding a horse. It produces a positive effect on the nervous system, so it is useful for hyperactive or hysterical kids. The best age fro the beginning is 5-6 years.

Hockey as well as tennis, badminton, golf, baseball and any other activity where the sportsman uses one hand more often causes wrong posture formation which results in scoliosis.

Paying attention to the particular features of different kinds of sports you will be able to define which one is the best for your kid.
